The wait is over—Colon Magi football is officially back. Tomorrow night, the Magi will make the two-hour-plus trip to Holton, Michigan, to kick off the 2025 season with hopes of setting the tone for a much-improved year. A lot of work has been poured in over the offseason. From the players grinding in the weight room and on the practice field, to the coaching staff putting in long hours of preparation, to all the behind-the-scenes support staff making things run smoothly—the Magi are determined to make this season one to remember. After a disappointing 2-7 record last year, Colon enters 2025 with higher expectations and eyes firmly set on a playoff push. The team looks to flip the script from last fall and build something special. Senior tight end and linebacker Ayden Delp will be a key two-way leader, making his presence felt on both sides of the ball. At quarterback, sophomore Jeremiah West returns after starting all nine games as a freshman. With a year of varsity experience under his belt, West is ready to command the offense with poise and confidence. While Delp and West highlight the roster, the Magi have plenty of other talented athletes ready to make their mark. Head Coach Derrick Sanders, now entering his second season at the helm, is confident in the direction the program is heading. The Magi are calling on the community to come out and support the team this season. With the energy around the program and the effort that has been invested, Colon football is ready to take the next step.
