Every season comes with its own set of challenges and stories. For the Colon Varsity Boys, Friday night presented their biggest test yet. Despite entering as the top seed, the Magi knew they were stepping into a hostile environment. The Burr Oak crowd showed up in full force, but it wasn’t enough to stop Colon from bringing home the district championship. Dalton Williams led the scoring with 19 points, but the real story of the night was defense. The Magi held the high-powered Bobcats to a season-low 34 points. They say defense wins championships, and Friday night was proof of that. However, in March, there’s no time to celebrate. Tomorrow at 5:30 PM, the Magi will travel to Mendon to face Concord in the regional semifinal.
